FIV - The German Information Network International Relations and Area Studies offers joint information products for government bodies, FIV member institutes and the general public. In addition to these, member institutes also offer specialised products, including bibliographies, readers, link lists and other information services for their own users.

IREON - The International Relations and
Area Studies Gateway provides a central point of access to all
relevant bibliographic information in the field. It
is possible to carry out simultaneous searches in various
databases. |

information services in non-German-speaking countries, FIV has
produced a multilingual thesaurus in cooperation with several
European research organisations: European
Thesaurus on International Relations and Area Studies. |

New: Development aid policy focus in IREON
Inwent – Capacity Building International, the German government organisation to carry out human resource development and worldwide dialogue in the framework of development cooperation, now provides its main literature database LITDOK for research in IREON.
The LITDOK database includes 190,000 bibliographic references to journal articles, books, internet documents and grey literature.
The main focus of this collection is on development cooperation, developing countries and global economic development policy.
LITDOK uses subject terms of the "Thesaurus for economic and social development" for content description.
